Distribution: Occurring east of the Cascades crest in the northeastern counties in Washington; British Columbia to Washington, east to Alberta, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, and the northern Great Plains.

Habitat: Dry, open places in the valleys, plains and foothills, sometimes ascending to middle elevations in the mountains.

Flowers: May-July

Origin: Native

Growth Duration: Perennial
